This Week Is National School Psychology Week (NSPW)!

From November 3–7, 2025, join BCASP in celebrating National School Psychology Week (NSPW)—a time to recognize the vital role school psychologists play in helping students thrive at school, at home, and in life

An initiative of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), this year’s theme, “Finding Your Path,” highlights how school psychologists support students, families, and educators in setting goals, building resilience, and finding pathways to learning and well-being that meet their unique needs.

Throughout the week, school psychologists are encouraged to take part in simple daily activities that celebrate the meaningful work we do to promote growth, connection, and belonging in the lives of the children and youth we serve. See below for daily activity ideas and inspiration to help you celebrate NSPW in your school or community.

Monday: Find Your Path

Reflect on your journey in school psychology—who helped guide you, and what experiences shaped your path. Share your story of professional growth to highlight how school psychology makes a difference. Connect with BCASP, your district team, and partner organizations to amplify awareness and celebrate the impact of school psychologists across BC

Tuesday: Expand Your Path

Explore the full scope of school psychology practice using the NASP Practice Model. Reflect on how BC school psychologists can expand their impact by engaging in underused areas, such as prevention, mental health promotion, or systems-level support. Identify opportunities to strengthen your leadership role within your school, district, or the broader BC education community.

Wednesday: Promote Your Path

Reflect on what your school community needs most and how you can advocate for positive change. Use this day to raise awareness of the shortage of school psychologists in BC and the essential supports students require. Consider writing to local MLAs, school trustees, or the Ministry of Education and Child Care to share how school psychologists help students thrive and why sustained investment in mental health and learning supports matters.

Thursday: Share Your Path

Celebrate the diverse perspectives and experiences that strengthen our schools and profession. Share your story, culture, and insights—and take time to learn from others. Use NASP and BCASP resources to promote equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness in your practice. Connect with colleagues through mentorship or professional networks to explore how our unique backgrounds can guide us toward shared goals in supporting students and communities.

A Mentorship Table will be available at the 37th Annual BCASP Conference (Nov. 12–14, Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel, Vancouver). If you’re a member, log in to the BCASP website and visit the Member Directory to find colleagues you can reach out to for consultation, support, and connection.

Friday: Reflect on Your Path

Take time to celebrate the week’s successes and recognize the many ways school psychologists make a difference in BC schools and the wider community. Share your goals for continuing to advocate, connect, and inspire others—helping every child thrive at school, at home, and in life. Where will your path lead next?
